Radio is so back. Sort of.
I just got back to NYC from the Wear Many Hats World Tour.
In 2023, I coined this new adventure series during my podcast called the Wear Many Hats World Tour.
Friends of the show would come up to me and ask, how is the World Tour? I would think to myself, no way that people actually caught on to me doing this wild world tour. It’s either from me saying it so much on the podcast or posting about it constantly on IG.
When I was in London for The Podcast Show, I wanted to figure out how to write more as well as add a radio component to it. For the longest time I thought I was going to do a radio show called WMH, taking cues from NTS but then BJ Novak commented on our collab post with Rachel Krupa lowkey calling her photo an SNL pic but in my head I was thinking… could WMH be like… SNL?! I know I’m going way over my head with this one but one could only dream.
So then I thought, maybe keep it HATS. As a radio show. I found that HATS.FM wasn’t taken as a domain so I scooped it up. To be honest, I’ve been buying a ton of domain names for projects I’ve been coming up with and I found out that it’s a sign of ADHD. Want to hear what domains I bought up? Since you asked:
comicalsans.com - because I thought I would start a comedy show with people in the arts. Dork shit.
makematsar.com / matsar.co - I’m starting a matcha brand called Matsar.
jazzandjava.org - I’m starting a non-profit where we donate instruments to kids and during the events we also give out coffee and matcha.
rastam.com - My last name is Rastam and I wanted to start giving recs on products I’ve been using and stores I’ve been checking out.
dahsars.com - I wanted to make an online shop of if I was going to have a store IRL. This is what I would sell.
hats.fm - This one that you’re on right now. Radio show / Newsletter / Guest Playlists along with a Substack. Substack is so hot right now.
Be sure to subscribe and tune into the show. The first post I did was back in 2021 where I thought Newsletters wouldn’t make it but after reading a bunch of new books on business, creating brands, email newsletters are back more than ever.
