A vacation for my vacation
The difference between a work vacation and a vacation
What goes on in my head is the future. I’m excited for it and dreading it at the same time. After 2020, I thought that every year was a terrible one because I’m reminded of the outside forces beyond our control. Personal recaps and accomplishment lists is what everyone should plan to write at the end of the year. Journal them or blast it online. I would like to think that everyone was hit with the highest of the highs with a case of the lows and you just have to accept the fact that you can’t escape it. I would bet on Kalshi or Polymarket that you had a good year.

At the time of writing this in Delray Beach, Florida, it brought back memories of the time I was in Siesta Key, Florida in my 20s and was not a fan. I wanted to come back to NYC because I missed the nightlife and routine. I wasn’t ready to settle down, take breaks, and hit the sun the way I do now. I feel calm, refreshed, and happy to hit the beach then pool then beach then pool. On hitting the beach, I felt the need to say this out loud but how do we have this life? While overlooking crystal waters and practicing all the yoga stances I’ve done in the past year at Fyra Yoga fka as Modo in the water, I want to know how we can all get together feeling like Keanu in Point Break.
I am reminded that I have potential after breaking out of my comfort zone and sharing my plans for the future to my close friends that don’t think I have it in me to crash out, lose my sobriety, and end up on the streets of Kensington, Philly. Many thanks to the ones who look over me!
Stop. Look around your surroundings. Consider. Is my new personal motto in Delray as I step in cement where concrete finishers are fixing the sidewalks of the beach house. First round was with Sambas then going to tell them in Spanish, then immediately stepped in other sidewalk placements in Crocs. Scenes right out of a Dumb & Dumber movie.
I wonder if I’m a 48 size font open book. In Philly, I’ve been in too many cooks in the kitchen scenarios. If you’re not lending a helping hand, it shows. Must help clear the table or be part of the cooking staff. Two hands on deck or get out. Set the table and then clear it. I’m reminded I’m on vacation and I like the vacation part but I can’t help, but do something I’m so good at.. it’s chilling.
I’m on vacation before my real vacation. In my mind, I wonder if it’s just hard to relax in the United States than anywhere else in the world.

I will be arriving in Bangkok for meetings with Matsar, the Wear Many Hats food and beverage arm, and make new things happen.
Once I touchdown in Southeast Asia:
Get a weekly yoga class pass next to my Airbnb
Hit the gym and pool at my Airbnb
Eat a lot. 6x meals a day
Grab motorbike as many times as needed
Successfully have a good time and come back with good news
Thankful even though I don’t look the part. In the business we say:
I appreciate you.
